End of Term Events.

During our last week of term we gave every member of year 2 an iPad which they will use in year 3 for all of their topic work. What an exciting project!

We had a huge farewell party for the wonderful Mrs Brain who is leaving Robin Hood after 29 years to continue on her new life’s adventures.

All of the children in year 2 have graduated and we had a ceremony in the hall to congratulate them.

We had a fun filled water fight. I think the teachers ended up being soaked by your lovely children!!!

Finally, we were treated to a performance called ‘The Genius’ which was very entertaining.

I would just like to thank you all for the beautiful gifts and thoughtful cards that I received. I have really enjoyed teaching 2BH, your children are great. Have a wonderful holiday 😊

Science Week fun so far!!!

We have had so much fun learning all about the water cycle, sinking and floating according to density of fluids and objects and even making our own rain cloud!!!

We also had Severn Trent in school educating us on how we receive our clean tap, water and how to save water by being more efficient.

Take a peep πŸ‘€

What a week!

On Wednesday we had the first Robin Hood Academy Sports day at Beechcraft Tennis Club. What an amazing event it was! The children were fantastic, great venue, super activities and so much support from parents, friends and other family members.

The children had such a good time, thank you to all the staff that kept score for each team. The morning ran like clockwork due to the excellent organisation skills of Mr Holland, we are very grateful indeed.

Thursday evening was another amazing event with 15 children from year 2 creating the music and sound scape for the For-Wards project performance night. I am so proud of the children. The piece that they created was fantastic and we were delighted that One of our children wrote and performed the ‘Blah Blah’ song. I do hope we get a chance to work with composer Grandmaster Gareth and project manager Bobbie Jane Gardener.

Finally, well done to all the children in year 1 and 2 who received a congratulations certificate and the children who received a free book for reading regularly at home.

Thank you to all the parents, carers and family members that come and support their children in all the events that take place in and out of school. I really appreciate it πŸ‘πŸΌ

Another fun filled week!

We started our week with a fabulous trip and the week just got better and better. We had a Mad Scientist come into school to show us some fabulous science experiments. The children had a great time participating in the experience.

The children in 2BH also showed off their skills in ‘show and tell’ .

On Friday, we continued our Arts Week project. The children wanted to make the items in the painting so they created bird cages, birds, a window scene, head dresses and a brick wall! The arts will continue next week ready for our display on Thursday morning for you all to see.

Land Ahoy

This half terms topic is called Land Ahoy and to launch this new and exciting term we went to Beaumanor Hall for a fantastic Pirate Adventure day. The children took part in map reading and finding out all about pirates and their treasures before lunch.

After lunch the children took part in a range of activities such as, target practice, a memory game, balancing activities and finally a maths trail.

It was a fabulous day with so many learning opportunities which catered for all the children’s needs.

Take a look at the fun we had and the children’s amazing costumes.
